OPmobility taps Siemens for digital production backbone

OPmobility in France is adopting Teamcenter X, the cloud-enabled Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software from Siemens, for its automotive systems.
OPmobility, formerly Plastic Omnium, will use Teamcenter as its single backbone to optimize workflows and project lead-times and refine its product design processes in a rapidly changing automotive industry.
OPmobility’s increasingly complex products now include electronics and software, to create intelligent exterior and complex lighting systems for cusotmers such as Hella, as well as energy storage systems, which include sodium battery and hydrogen systems.
The company has 40 R&D centres around the world and will use Teamcenter as its product lifecycle management backbone, including AI tools. It has already been working with Siemens Digital Industries Software on the HEEDS AI-based simulation tool to boost the development of digital twin technology.
