The program for Elektor’s online conference on RISC-V is now online
On Wednesday, 15 April 2026 (from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. CEST), Elektor Academy Pro is hosting the full-day online conference “RISC-V Open Architecture for Embedded, AI, and Automotive“. It brings together leading experts to discuss the latest trends, best practices and innovative RISC-V solutions for embedded systems. The event is aimed at embedded systems engineers, hardware designers, firmware and software developers, semiconductor industry professionals, and academics.
Why RISC-V ?
With its modern instruction set architecture, modular structure, open development foundation, and its extensibility, simplicity, and efficiency, RISC‑V has emerged as a strong contender to conventional processor architectures. An increasing number of systems rely on RISC‑V – spanning applications from AI and the Internet of Things to embedded solutions, automotive technology, cloud infrastructures, and consumer electronics. As a flexible, secure, and cost‑effective option, RISC‑V is fundamentally reshaping both the semiconductor and software industries.
At the same time, new challenges arise. For RISC‑V to achieve long‑term success, ongoing investment and close cooperation between the developer community and industry are essential. Key obstacles identified so far include fragmentation, an immature ecosystem, extensive testing requirements in safety‑critical domains, limited access to EDA tools and IP components, as well as commercial and geopolitical risks.
The conference addresses many of these challenges and provides expertise, trends, and experience reports for the target groups mentioned.
What to expect from the online conference
The RISC-V conference delivers a compact yet comprehensive learning experience, combining six practical, 45-minute presentations with 15-minute Q&A opportunities.
Among other things, in the presentations attendees will:
- recognize the potential of the RISC-V ecosystem, the opportunities of open IP models, and the need for clear IP processes
- learn about tools for designing and programming RISC-V-based architectures
- get a guide to RISC‑V acceleration for embedded and Edge AI
- learn running AI on RISC-V with Vectors
- get help building safe and secure systems with RISC-V
Why should you register now?
After each presentation, participants can join a live Q&A session with the speaker and connect with fellow engineers in moderated video breakout rooms. All talks will be recorded and available on demand, along with supplementary materials. A certificate of participation will also provided.
Currently, the Early Bird ticket costs €199, but from 21 March, a regular ticket will be €229. Gold or Green members of Elektor, to which eeNews Europe belongs, will receive an additional discount so that they only have to pay €149 for a ticket.
Those interested can find further information on the conference website.
